When the City of Austin moved to a new CMS, Drupal, we decided it was time to reinvent the site and move it from Joomla to Drupal. The Joomla site had confusing navigation and organization and was more of a mix of stories rather than information about the organization. The City’s web team designed and built the site, coordinating with myself who went through steps to build a better IA based on web best practices, including a sitemap and hi-fi prototype before the site was built. Future plans include usability testing and new iteration of the design.
